Dr. Susan Holland, a proud nursing alumna of Florida SouthWestern State College (formerly Edison Community College), is the dean of Florida SouthWestern School of Nursing. Her nursing career spans major regional institutions, including Fort Myers Community Hospital, Lee Memorial Hospital/Health Park, the Hendry/Glades County Public Health Department, and Nova Southeastern University.
Her connection to FSW deepened while she was earning her Master’s degree, when an internship in the nursing program led to a faculty position on the Fort Myers campus. This opportunity marked the beginning of nearly two decades of progressive leadership. Dr. Holland previously served in Faculty, Program Director, and Associate Dean roles. Dr. Holland holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science from the University of Central Florida and a Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Phoenix.
As a Florida Registered Nurse, published author, and educator, Holland has presented on critical topics in nursing education, including NCLEX data analysis, teaching strategies, clinical judgment, and simulation. Her combination of clinical expertise, academic leadership, and deep community roots makes her an ideal leader for shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals at FSW. Dr. Holland leads with a data-informed approach while fostering a supportive environment for faculty and students alike. The ASN program is proud of their 93.90% NCLEX pass rate.

Since 1968, FSW has been a cornerstone of nursing education in Florida. The program continues to attract students from across Southwest Florida and beyond, maintaining its tradition of excellence in preparing healthcare professionals for the workforce.
