FSW Anchors

Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) Anchor is a student success program housed in the Division of Student Affairs and administered by the Office of Student Engagement. The program is designed to improve the retention and graduation rates of students from first-generation, limited-income, and historically underrepresented populations.

Program Outcomes

This program is designed to get students connected to support in academics, professional development, and personal success in your time here at the FSW. By participating in this program, we will help you to:

  • Increase your GPA
  • Get connected to mentors – both inside and outside of the College – to provide guidance and advice
  • Receive enhanced support from key offices including Academic Advising, Adaptive Services, Bucs C.A.R.E, Financial Aid, and more
  • Get help navigating the transfer or job-seeking process so that you can be prepared for life after you graduate from FSW

Eligibility Requirements

Participants must be FSW students working on an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree or Certificate. They must also meet any of the following criteria:

  • First-Generation (neither parent has a four-year bachelor's degree)
  • Low income (based on federal guidelines)
  • Documented disability
