Frequently Asked Questions

How many times can I apply?

Currently, a student may submit one certification form or application for a CRRSAA emergency grant. Students who previously applied for CARES Act funds must submit a new certification form or application to be considered for CRRSAA emergency funds.

How much will I receive?

Eligible student award amounts vary by Phase and range from $500.00 to $1,000.00. Students eligible in Phase 1 will receive $1,000.  Students eligible in Phase 2 will receive $750.  Students eligible in Phase 3 will receive $500.  Emergency Grant funds will be disbursed to students on a first come first serve basis until all funds are distributed.

When will I know the results?

We anticipate a large volume of certification form submissions and applications and will work to process submissions as quickly as possible. Once your certification form or application is processed and your eligibility is verified, funds will be disbursed within 14 business days.

How do students receive the money?

FSW has partnered with BankMobile Disbursements to deliver financial aid and other school refunds to our students. All you have to do is follow these steps to select how you want to receive your money.

  • Log into your FSW Student Portal.
  • Select Financial Aid & Student Services
  • Under Student Services click BankMobile
  • Select how you want your money delivered (example, Direct Deposit)

If you have previously established a Refund Preference you do not need to take any action unless you wish to update it. If so, you will need to log into your existing BankMobile account.

Do the funds need to be repaid?

No, this is not a loan. The funds are given to students in need and do not need to be repaid.

Can this funding reduce my financial aid?

No, these funds are exempt from the maximum financial aid amount students may receive.

I graduate this semester. Can I still receive assistance?

Yes. Students who apply and meet all eligibility criteria will be awarded funds in order of application until all CRRSAA funds are depleted regardless of degree completion status.

What if I owe FSW for tuition or other expenses?

Financial aid grants for students may be used for any component of the student’s cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus. Students may choose to have their emergency financial aid grant funds satisfy an outstanding account balance or to have the funds disbursed directly to them through BankMobile as described above.

During the certification or application process, students will have the option to request their grant funds be applied to an existing FSW balance or to request their grant to be distributed directly to them to cover emergency costs.

By requesting their grant funds be applied to an existing FSW balance, the student’s grant will be applied to the student’s outstanding balance. If the student has additional grant funds after the grant has been credited to the student’s account, the student will receive a refund. If the student has an additional balance after the grant is credited to the student’s account, the student will need to pay the remaining balance. If the student does not have a balance at the time the funds are sent to the student’s account, the grant funds will be sent directly to the student.

By requesting their grant funds be distributed directly to them, students will receive their full grant through their existing refund preference as established in their BankMobile account.

Please note, if you were a dual enrollment student for Spring 2021, your funds will be issued to you by check mailed to your address on file.
