Dr. Mary Catherine Faust

Dr. Mary Catherine Faust is an accomplished educator and administrator with over 25 years of experience in higher education. She joins Florida SouthWestern State College after a distinguished tenure at Life University, where she held key positions, including Dean and Associate Dean of the College of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies, as well as Department Chair and Assistant Dean of the Sport Health Science program. Dr. Faust was instrumental in launching several academic programs and has extensive experience in accreditation and curriculum design.
Before her academic career, Dr. Faust specialized in hospital-based cardiac rehabilitation programs and cardiology and served as Vice President of Clinical Operations for Heart Alert, a telemedicine company. She developed patient-monitoring protocols and contributed to research efforts that led to a successful FDA submission for a personal cardiac monitoring device.
Dr. Faust earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Eastern Kentucky University and her Ph.D. from Texas Woman’s University, where she conducted several studies examining the role of diet, exercise, and hormones on bone mineral density/osteoporosis. She has a strong record of community service and has been actively involved with the HOSA organization at both the state and national levels.

With a student-centered vision and a passion for healthcare education, Dr. Faust continues to strengthen the School of Allied Health by fostering academic excellence, supporting faculty, and preparing graduates to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare profession. Under her leadership, the school remains committed to advancing FSW's mission and serving the communities of Southwest Florida.
