Education and training in these fields will need postsecondary education for entry into the occupation.
Mission
The mission of the School of Health Professions at Florida SouthWestern State College is to deliver high-quality, innovative, evidence-based, and patient-centered healthcare and social and human services education. Our programs strive to engage students in an environment that promotes diversity, critical thinking, academic research, and clinically-based competencies. School of Health Professions prepares students to join healthcare and the social and human services workforce within our local, national, and global communities.
Vision
The vision of the School of Health Professions at Florida SouthWestern State College is to acknowledge and expand the vast interdisciplinary expertise of its’ programs to be disseminated among students and the healthcare and social and human services communities.
Programs Offered
FSW School of Health Professions offers two baccalaureate degrees, one post-associate certificate, nine associate degrees, and seven certificates available to enter or advance in the workforce upon graduation and successful credentialing. Nursing and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) programs are offered on all three campuses in Charlotte, Collier, and Lee counties. In addition to the valuable clinical experiences made available by our community hospitals and affiliates, Florida SouthWestern State College boasts a state-of-the-art Simulation Education Center that has obtained global recognition. Faculty, staff, and students in the School of Health Professions are active in community and professional activities at local, state, national, and international levels. Graduates of our health professions programs are extremely successful on credentialing examinations and finding employment after graduation.
