Residency Form

To determine if you qualify for discounted tuition as a Florida resident, you must provide a "Florida Residency Declaration (PDF)" form to the Office of Admissions. The information below will help you determine who should be listed as the "claimant" on the form. Please read the detail to ensure your form is completed correctly.


  • 24 or older
  • Married
  • Veteran
  • Has Dependents
  • Is/was in foster care
  • Earned annual income of $9,655

Prove Student's residency — listed as the claimant


  • 24 or older
  • Eligible to be claimed as a "dependent" on parent/legal guardian's last tax filing

Prove Parent/Legal Guardian's residency — listed as the claimant

Complete the Florida "Residency Declaration" and Provide Required Documentation

  • Must show legal ties to Florida and prove 12 consecutive months of activity in Florida immediately prior to the first day of classes
  • Examples include Florida driver's license, vehicle registration, voter registration, proof of full-time employment, homestead exemption

A full listing of acceptable documentation can be found in the form. At least one of the documents provided must be from Tier 1.

Examples of documents that may not be used include: passport, social security card, birth certificate, insurance card, library card, hunting/fishing license or piece of mail.
