Professional Development Catalog

The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) at FSW offers a diverse selection of workshops and training sessions for faculty professional development. Professional development opportunities are categorized in three areas and color coded on the training calendar: Instruction, Technology, and Community. Each specialized area encompasses a broad subset of topics designed to enhance and support faculty in their achievement of the College’s mission to inspire learning and prepare a diverse population for creative and responsible participation in a global society.

Instruction

Instructional sessions facilitate faculty awareness and support in the following areas pedagogy, educational methodology, general education competencies, assessment, research, understanding the first-year student experience, classroom management, mental health and wellness, and more.

Technology

Technology workshops offered through the TLC introduce faculty to educational technology resources, provide training on the college-wide learning management system, creating accessible content and explore emerging technologies for student and classroom success.

Community

The TLC supports communities of practice that promote learning, sharing, and collaboration, while encouraging ongoing faculty and departmental relationships collegewide. Learn more about Communities at FSW.
