- The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 prohibits an educational institution from releasing confidential, nondirectory information about a student without the student’s consent
- Protects the privacy of student education records
- Accelerated Pathways students fall under the same policies as traditional college students
- Without a FERPA waiver signed by the student, FSW cannot speak with parents about a student’s academic standing
- A student may waive this right for a third party by completing a FERPA Waiver Request with the FSW Registrar’s office
