With transformational education initiatives focused on social justice and practical experiences, the Education (Teaching) Pathway programs at FSW will train you be a positive and engaging educational practitioner in settings from birth to high school.

Teachers are the future!

Teaching is the profession that makes all other professions possible! It is an exciting and challenging role in our society that directly influences a child’s life. Our outstanding faculty and staff will work closely with you to ensure you are equipped with the required tools to be agents of change in the lives of your students, their families, and the community. Our faculty will strive to help you ignite a love of learning and support your educational aspirations.

A program in the Education (Teaching) Pathway may be for you if you:

Hands-on Learning in the Classroom

In our AS, BS, and CCC programs, you will take part in field experiences where you can practice your teaching skills by working in real classrooms.

In fact, during the final internship for the BS in Elementary Education, teacher candidates work their way up to full classroom take-over!

The School of Education offers rigorous and demanding education programs. Setting high expectations and requiring you to meet these expectations enables you to capture the knowledge and skills needed to be a successful educator. AA Transfer Pathways

If you want to transfer to a University or complete your bachelor's at FSW, an Associate in Arts (AA) degree can be tailored so you can transfer into any major in the State University System. 

Elementary Education 

Associate in Science (AS) Programs

If you want to enter the workforce immediately upon graduation or have an interest in pursuing a specialized bachelor's degree program (like our Elementary Education Bachelor's Degree Program), one of these two-year degree programs might be for you.

Early Childhood Education



College Credit Certificate (CCC) Programs

If you want to enhance your skills for a specific job, this type of program might be for you. CCCs require fewer credits and they may apply to an associate degree. 

Child Development Specialization Certificate

Inclusion Specialization Certificate

Preschool Specialization Certificate 

Bachelor of Science or Applied Science (BS or BAS) Programs

If you want to enter the workforce immediately upon graduation or have an interest in pursuing advanced degrees (masters, doctorate), this four-year degree obtained by completing 60 hours of general education courses (usually an AA or an AS) followed by 60 hours of major specific coursework might be for you.
