Accounting Technology (AS)

The Associate in Science Degree (AS) in Accounting Technology program offers a sequence of courses that presents coherent and rigorous content needed to prepare for further education and for careers such as accounts receivable coordinators, accounts payable coordinators, bookkeepers, credit and collections coordinators, payroll coordinators, accountants, auditors, tax preparers, and other accounting paraprofessionals in advanced professional accounting occupations. The program is designed for both full-time and part-time students.

The content includes but is not limited to the principles, procedures, and theories of organizing, maintaining and auditing business and financial transactions, and the preparation of accompanying financial records and reports for internal and external uses.

Continuing Toward a Baccalaureate Degree

There are many opportunities for more advanced education. For example, Graduates of the AS, Accounting Technology Degree can matriculate into the BAS, Supervision & Management Degree at Florida SouthWestern State College. Graduates of the AS, Accounting Technology program can also pursue Bachelor’s Degrees in Accounting, Business, Management and other related areas at many local colleges and universities as well as those located throughout the state and country.
